2005 LINCOLN TRAIL AREA LABOR Economic development and human resource professionals, site consultants and business/industry representatives will be glad to know that the Labor Availability Reports for the Lincoln Trail Workforce Area are now available for their use. Pathfinders, Inc. of Dallas Texas, a site-selection consultant, published the reports in February 2005. Three reports are available: 1) Lincoln Trail Area report that covers the eight counties in the region; 2) West County report that covers Hardin, Meade, Breckinridge, Larue and Grayson as well as parts of adjacent counties; 3) East County report that covers Nelson, Washington and Marion as well as parts of adjacent counties. A household survey was conducted throughout the eight county area to determine the availability and skills of “underemployed” workers – those who might change jobs and who would be potential candidates for a new employer at various wage ranges as well as other related factors. A survey of local employers was also conducted, asking them to rate their workers on a number of factors including productivity, reliability, attitudes, and basic skill competency. They were also asked about the availability of skilled, unskilled, technical and professional workers. These three reports can be accessed from the Lincoln Trail Area Development District’s website at www.ltadd.org. On the home page click on “Downloads”, then click on “Labor Availability Reports”. If you have any questions or need further information contact Jim Skees, Business Liaison at the Area Development District at 270-769-2393 or e-mail at jim@ltadd.org.
