Labor Market Information

The Lincoln Trail Area Development District conducted an intensive study of the

Dallas, TX in 2002. The complete report is available at Lincoln Trail Career
Centers.

Included in the findings were….

  • There is an estimated civilian workforce of 112,200 people in the eight
counties and a new employer will be able to attract from a pool of 27,800
available workers who are either seeking employment or have indicated an
    interest in changing jobs.

  • There are approximately 7,400 unemployed people who are seeking work.

  • There are approximately 5,500 people, neither employed nor seeking work,
who might re-enter the workforce for the proper job.

  • Twenty-five percent of 14,900 "underemployed" workers would take a new
job for $10.03 per hour or less.

In addition, The Commonwealth of Kentucky offers labor market information on the
eight counties of the Lincoln Trail Area Development District through the
Kentucky Office of Employment and Training http://oet.ky.gov and the Department

A labor market information site has been created at http://lmisurvey.ky.gov
by the Department for Workforce Development. Data estimates are available by county
and by Lincoln Trail Area Development District.

The second is www.workforcekentucky.ky.gov.  This site includes information on
