Employer Services
Through the Lincoln Trail Career Centers, employers can access state and local resources to recruit qualified employees from a variety of backgrounds and skill sets. The Centers also can assist with employer training programs, funding for training and assessments, and business retention and expansion efforts.
- Job placement
- The Lincoln Trail Career Centers can assist businesses locate qualified applicants and provide space for job interviews. The Centers are able to recruit workers who may be getting laid off or are untapped populations looking for work, including the under-employed, youth, welfare recipients, veterans and persons with disabilities.
- Skills assessments
- Through specialized computer programs, the Centers have the resources to screen and test job seekers, and provide skills assessment for hiring to match specific needs of each company.
- Workforce training
- The Workforce Investment Act allows the Lincoln Trail Career Centers to provide funding for eligible on-the-job training and customized training needs. Employers can work with the Kentucky Workforce Investment Network System (KY WINS), the Lincoln Trail Area Development District, Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Kentucky Farm Worker Program, among others, to gain skilled employees and additional funds for on-the-job and incumbent worker training.
- Labor market information
- Each year the workforce environment changes. The Career Centers offer employers access to detailed labor market information for the Lincoln Trail area. The data can be accessed by contacting the Lincoln Trail Area Development District through the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training. Currently, labor market information is shared at www.workforcekentucky.ky.gov.
- Rapid Response Services
- In times that require workforce reduction, the Lincoln Trail Career Centers provide Rapid Response Services to employers to assist in managing the situation.
- Government resources
- As a result of the close relationship with government agencies, the Centers provide information to understand EEOC, affirmative action and Kentucky wage and hour information. Through the Career Centers, employers are also able to work with state agencies, such as the Kentucky State Government, the Cabinet for Economic Development and the Kentucky Secretary of State, to obtain useful information about starting and expanding a business.
- ADA consultation
- Employers will receive ADA consultation through the Career Centers and will have access to information from the Office for the Blind and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other work and lifestyle issues.
- Unemployment services
- The Lincoln Trail Career Centers can set up an unemployment insurance account, among other unemployment services offered.
