Assists job seekers to obtain employment and employers to obtain qualified workers;
and provides Unemployment Insurance benefits to eligible workers who are temporarily
unemployed through no fault of their own, labor market information for career and
business decision making, and specialized services for veterans and migrant farm workers.

Provides core, intensive and training services under the federal Lincoln
Trail Area
Development District / Workforce Investment Act
of 1998 for adults, workers who have
been laid off, and youth to help them acquire skills,
update current skills and find new and
better careers. Individual Training Accounts are
awarded on a case-by-case scenario.
Department for Adult Education and Literacy
Offers GED preparation, adult basic education and literacy, English as a Second
Language, and workplace essential skills training to individuals, families and currently
employed workers. Training is provided at work sites and in local learning centers.
Office of Employment and Training / Kentucky
Works
Provides employment assistance, including training and supportive services, to move
welfare recipients, former recipients, and non-custodial parents into unsubsidized jobs
offering long-term career opportunities.
Office of Vocational Rehabilitation
Assists individuals with disabilities to achieve suitable employment and independence.
Office for the Blind
Assists individuals with visual disabilities in preparing for and obtaining employment and
achieving independent living.
Lincoln Trail Area Development District /
Experience Works
Provides employment for persons age 55 and over. Program participants work at
community and government agencies where they receive training that is used as a bridge
to other employment.
Kentucky Community and Technical College / Higher
Education
Provides accessible and affordable education and training through the Kentucky
Community and Technical College system, leading to a degree, a diploma, or a
certificate; and also provides services including adult basic education, career
assessment, Work Keys® evaluation, custom industry courses, and distance
earning opportunities.
St. Catharine College / Higher Education
St. Catharine College is an
independent, coeducational, liberal arts college offering
pre-professional and professional programs. While providing a strong
academic
foundation in liberal arts and pre-professional/professional programs,
St. Catharine
prepares students for employment or transfer to four-year institutions
after earning the
appropriate bachelors degree, associate degree or certificate. Services
provided include
career counseling, assessment inventory, personal counseling, academic
and general testing.
Central Kentucky Community Action /
Community Services Block Grant Employment & Training Activities
Through a network of community action agencies and other neighborhood-based
organizations for the reduction of poverty, this grant program also addresses the
revitalization of low-income communities, and the empowerment of low-income families
and individuals in rural and urban areas to become fully self-sufficient.
Kentucky Farm Worker Program
Provides employment and training assistance to the migrant and seasonal farm worker.
