Job Training
Job Seekers
By using the Lincoln Trail Career Centers, job seekers have access to skills training, recruitment and job search services on a case-by-case basis, and grant opportunities to help achieve career goals.
Employers
The Workforce Investment Act allows the Lincoln Trail Career Centers to provide funding for eligible on-the-job training and customized training needs. Employers can access opportunities such as Kentucky Workforce Investment Network System (KY WINS) through the Kentucky Community & Technical College System, the Lincoln Trail Area Development District, Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Kentucky Farm Worker Program, among others, to gain skilled employees and additional funds for on-the-job and incumbent worker training.
Workforce Investment Act
The purpose of the federal Workforce Investment Act is to provide employment and training services through a one-stop system in order to increase employment, retention, earnings, and occupational skill attainment of participants. The goal of WIA is to improve the quality of the workforce, reduce welfare dependency and enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the nation. The law also emphasizes the need to provide services to the business community to help them obtain and maintain a qualified workforce.
